Nollywood teen star, Olamide David who played the lead character in Foluke Daramola’s movie, ‘Cobweb’ passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2015.
The youngster who is shot into prominence for his role in the movie, ‘Cobweb’ reportedly passed on at the General Hospital Ikeja, where he was rushed to after complaining of stomach pains.
Olamide David, it was gathered, was mistakenly kicked in the stomach while playing football with his friends the day the terrible incident occurred.
While announcing the demise of the child actor, a sober Foluke Daramola shared the photo of Olamide David via his Instagram handle. She captioned it: “Death! Where is your string? Olamide David, my lead character in Cobweb, why does it have to be now? Why why why?”
Other top celebrities such as talented actress, Iyabo Ojo, Mercy Aigbe-Gentry among other have also mourned the child actor in their own way.
Speaking with ERAVE on the terrible incident, Iyabo Ojo said the loss of the brilliant actor is indeed a terrible one. “It is indeed a very sad news to lose such a young, brilliant, talent. It’s indeed a great loss and may his soul rest in perfect peace. I pray for his family and loved ones because it is only God that can comfort them”.
On her part, Mercy Aigbe-Gentry who recently released her blockbuster movie, ‘The Victims’ disclosed that the movie industry will greatly miss the late Olamide. “His demise is a great loss to the industry at large. He was a very talented young lad who is good in the craft. I pray the Lord in His mercies grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss. The industry needs to be closer to God at this time.”
You will recall that the late Olamide David clinched the ‘Best Kid Actor’ award at the 2015 edition of the Best of Nollywood Awards held in Akure, Ondo State.
