Okiemute Igborodje has won the ninth edition of MTN Project Fame, smiling home with a handsome sum of N5 million, a brand new SUV and a multimillion Naira recording deal. 25 years old Lingustic and Communication graduate from the University of Port Harcourt, Okiemute is from a family of six, and the third of four girls. Okiemute credits her journey into music to one of her sisters, whom she said was always quick to put her at the forefront of any music-related activity.
However, the first runner up, Elizabeth went home with N3 million and a saloon car, while Kitay the second runner up claimed a sum of N2million and a saloon car followed by Pere going home with N2 million. The 5th and 6th winner, Dapo and Winner went home with 500Thousand Naira respectively.
The closing Gala which held at Ultima studios was hosted by Bolanle Olukanni and Joseph Benjamin. Also adding color to the evening was Adekunle Gold’s performance thrilling everyone with his hit song ‘Ariwo Ko’.
